Historical Context

Several of the world’s religions arose in Ancient India. Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism are four of the religions that began in India. They are still practiced now, in India and around the globe.

Task

Ancient India was home to a remarkable variety of religions. India’s religious groups often borrowed from each other’s spiritual beliefs and practices. Yet there are important differences between them. Write an essay comparing and contrasting the religions of India. As you write your essay, establish and maintain an objective tone.

Complete the following steps as you plan and compose your essay.
